Statement from MIFI VP on Corona Virus (COVID-19) and Our Supply Chain

Mitsubishi International Food Ingredients, Inc. (MIFI) has been a trusted and valued supplier to customers because we deliver safe, high-quality ingredients to the market. We are fully committed to maintaining these high standards as the circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak evolve.

As the Coronavirus has spread globally, MIFI has taken several steps to ensure the continued safety, quality and availability of products which you purchase from us. Since January, we have been reminding our employees of the importance of taking all appropriate precautions to protect themselves from infection, and to stay home if they feel ill. Some of our other recent actions include:

• In addition to remaining in constant contact with our vendors to monitor inventory levels and remain alert to any potential supply-chain disruptions, we have identified alternative suppliers where needed.
• Business travels to countries in which the CDC identified as Level 3 (namely China/South Korea/Iran/Italy) and Level 2 (namely Japan) are currently restricted. In the unlikely case of a need to visit those countries on a private basis, we have mandated a self-quarantine upon return. Any plans to attend large scale events such as trade shows, conferences, seminars etc. are strongly discouraged.
• We have established a strict visitor-registration policy in our offices.
• Our crisis and risk management team meets several times per week to assess the need for additional precautions or procedures.

While we will continue taking all necessary steps to maintain uninterrupted deliveries to our customers, we are also mindful that the situation could be impacted outside of our control. If we believe supply chain disruptions are likely, we will communicate these to you as quickly as possible.
